There is no such thing.  The latest Red Hat Enterprise Workstation
version is V3; it's the one where you have to pay per-seat for
support, and Red Hat won't give it to you unless you buy the support.

I assume that you're referring to the discontinued Red Hat 9.

In any case, your question is way too general; even within one
brand (say Dell) there will be machines that work and machines
that don't work.
