hey -

details:

uname: Linux xphylz 2.4.21-166-default #1 Thu Dec 18 18:23:14 UTC 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
distro: suse 9.0
device: sony dcs-p100 cybershot w/ memory stick and usb link

in tailing /var/log/messages it appears hotplug is sensing the
device:

Jul 18 19:00:09 xphylz last message repeated 3 times
Jul 18 19:00:10 xphylz kernel: hub.c: new USB device 02:04.2-1, assigned address 9
Jul 18 19:00:10 xphylz kernel: usb.c: USB device 9 (vend/prod 0x54c/0x10) is not claimed by any active driver.
Jul 18 19:00:10 xphylz kernel: sr0: CDROM not ready. Make sure there is a disc in the drive.

lsusb looks happy:

Bus 001 Device 009: ID 054c:0010 Sony Corp. DSC-S30/S70/S75/F505V/F505/FD92 Cybershot/Mavica Digital Camera

at this point i'm at a bit of a loss. i've tried a couple of
mount commands to no avail. i expect this is due to the fact
that no disc can be found. there is a memory stick in the camera
and it is r/w from the camera's perspective.

any idea?

much appreciated,

- james
