Well, one COULD argue (to be a Deb-archiver's-advocate) that you don't
NEED both, but really need one OR the other, OR both, depending on your
own needs.

E.g., no reason to make CDROM-burner-owning people download and install
DVD recording tools if they don't have a DVD recorder!!! ;)
