Hi all,
In preparation for co-locating my server (FreeBSD 4.9), I was checking
things out
and when I tried to connect through ssh from my Linux workstation,
it did so, but took about two minutes to prompt for the password,
after issueing 'ssh-l sevans 192.168.1.100' to the server.
I remember a very similar issue with ftp, and was advised to add the
IP addresses of the workstation to the /etc/hosts file on the server,
which fixed that one.
The IP addresses are in the hosts file, but ssh still takes a long time to
connect.
Does ssh look some place other than /etc/hosts?
I have looked in /etc/ssh, but nothing there strikes me as the source of
the probem.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Skip
