That's right. It's been so long I'd forgotten about the Linux kit for 
the PS2. In fact, they lowered the price of the kit not too long ago 
didn't they?

Sounds like the middleware just doesn't know to access the drive if it's 
there instead of or in addition to a memory card. But it's not a 
significant engineering leap to get there.
