Now that I've read both articles and many of the responses, it seems
that one tremendous expense in Windoze has been overlooked: the cost and
time involved in resolving "issues" such as worms and viruses, and all
the other stuff we read about every day. And then, what does a
professional package of RedHat or SuSE cost? You get just about
everything any office employee would ever need from databases to image
enhancers. Even better games than they put into Windoze. Updates of the
Windoze system alone cost more than the newest version of Linux one
chooses, and then you don't have to pay again and again for the
applications. Linux is less expensive, and anyone who can learn to deal
with Windoze can easily learn Linux (especially the installation!). It
may take a little longer, but it can be done.
