[svlug] Problem installing Slackware...

The Slackware CD boots (SYSLINUX and kernel) just fine in a friend's laptop.
Is it possible something is just screwy with my own?  To me, it sounds like
there is.  I've gone through the BIOS looking for anything relating to the
CD-ROM; the only thing I find is boot order.  The drive is internal, I do
not rely on PCMCIA for install, nor would I think SYSLINUX be in need of
PCMCIA.
