[svlug] Consoling into a cisco router

I am running redhat linux 8.0 and i am trying to console into a cisco
router.  It works fine in windows but i can not find the right software to
do so in linux.  I have tried minicom 2.0 but i can get it to open the
serial line.  Any software recommendations or website that show how to do
this.  I tried google but without any success.  Any help would be much
appreciated.
