[svlug] Is RH-9 binary compatible to RH-8?

If I compile and statically link a program under RH-8 will it be
guaranteed to run under RH-9? 

I am asking because the Intel Fortran compiler does not support RH-9
but I was hoping that the statically linked executables would still
run. 

Anybody having experience with this?
