Another plus is that with with a Linux client you can establish a ppp
connection thru the tunnel and have a functional VPN that only requires
one outbound SSH connection, with no reverse data channel connection
needed The problem with IPSEC and PPTP is that some firewalls don't
like them. When traveling, you will find it much more likely that you
can always get a ppp over ssh tunnel going.
Has anyone been able to get a Windows box with say Cygwin to do ppp
tunneling over ssh?
