I use RIG, which is the best online web gallery in my opinion.

I use jhead 2.0 for auto-rotating pictures depending on the EXIF info,
and a patch to xv to save EXIF info when I edit pictures (yep, I still
use xv, which is still the fastest viewer/editor I could find).
Otherwise, I use the red-eye plugin to the gimp for those special
occasions.
