OK, just found mention on lkml that 2.4+ kernels don't require a
CONFIG_IP_ALIAS (or whatever) just CONFIG_INET.
So, I have two interfaces, a live interface (eth1) and a backup (eth0).
Remotely, I did "ifdown eth0" - good, eth1 really is the live
interface. Then I did "ifup eth0" and the network connection on eth1
went dead. I had to have the system reset and am clueless as to why
that would happen. Any ideas?
