And that was a saying, as in we don't have lots of time to write those
things, not "we have jobs and you don't" (which I didn't know BTW). I have
enough friends unemployed that I know the pain...

We're not shy about doing so.

Not gonna happen, at least as long as I have something to do with it.
1) svlug is supposed to be fun and technically oriented. Writing bylaws,
having monthly meetings with quorums and votes is boring as hell
(I know, one of the clubs I used to belong to did that)
2) svlug used to be a SIG of SVCS, which has its own bylaws so
that we don't need to deal with that, and thanks to Ian Kluft and others
we are now a SIG of sbay.org

Those are technical issues, not very hard to fix.
Before you spend too much time on this, write a short proposal, send it to
officers at svlug.org, and it will be reviewed by our president (Don Marti)

They are, this was just my personal opinion and a warning before you spend
too much time for this that it might not be for much if you write a whole
set of bylaws or something
(but simple and sensible modifications to a page like our jobs page are more
likely to be accepted right away)

See above

Nope, see above.

It was, a long long time ago. That got changed in 1999 or 2000.

We became a SIG of sbay.org recently, although I don't quite remember when,
I was not closely involved. Don and Ian would know better

Right, although they aren't ours anymore.
