I'm glad that you have day jobs. Some of us are not so fortunate.

All the more reason to use unpaid labor in the form of volunteers!

Is there documentation for the SVLUG mailing list (and web?) server(s)?
Can I get a system image and/or tarball (with instructions of how to use
it)?

The web page I would consider modifying is the one containing the
mailing list policy. But, I don't see it as my place change SVLUG
mailing list policy, nor do I know what the process is for doing so. I
think it would be better if there were SVLUG bylaws which governed the
creation, ratification, modification, and implementation of policies
related to SVLUG community services.

>From a purely technical standpoint, it appears that the mailing list
policy is HTML content embedded in the web page in question. There also
appears to be server-side includes (*.shtml) and other things which I am
not familiar with at this time (such as webfetch). To implement my
suggestion #2, I would try to figure out how to put the policy into a
separate file and then include it in both the web page and the
notification e-mail.

Final answer? Or, are my suggestions still open for other people to
give their opinion?

Bylaws:

An undercurrent to this entire discussion is "what are the SVLUG rules
of the road?" I assumed SVLUG was democratic in nature, but now I'm not
so sure. I may not be alone. A good set of bylaws would clarify any
confusion on this topic and others.

I looked for SVLUG bylaws, but found none. Do they exist? If so, can
someone please provide a URL? If not, again I volunteer.
