[svlug] cdparanoia Won't Rip CDs Anymore

About a week ago I installed a CD burner into my
computer that would take the place of my old CDROM
drive. After installing and configuring the new drive
by giving the kernel argument 'hdc=ide-scsi' and
inserting the ide-scsi module in, I ripped a CD to see
how fast it would be and it worked. For some reason it
won't rip as a normal user anymore with cdparanoia.
Any advice?
