Don't know about Lindows, but if we generalize a bit to general
GNU/Linux/Gnome/etc ...
Jamie Zawinski (of xemacs, netscape and mozilla fame, before he gave it
up to run a nightclub) has done some work on Linux kiosks. See
http://www.dnalounge.com/backstage/src/kiosk/
His setup is perhaps a bit more permissive than what you want, but
perhaps you can use it as a starting point for what you want to do.
And you could always head up to SF to see how well it works ...
