That's not set, although: "set nostrict_threads" is...

(googling around for it, since I added this line over a year ago...)

Hehe, from my home LUG's mailing list archives:

  http://www.lugod.org/mailinglists/archives/vox-tech/2001-12/msg00129.html

set nostrict_threads # thread via Subject: line also

Seen elsewhere:

  http://www.earth.li/~huggie/mutt/muttrc.html

set nostrict_threads # Lets have some fuzzy threading.

So it sounds like Mutt's trying... just not dealing very well. :^/

Oh well - this kind of mis-threading is MUCH easier to 'deal with' on my
part than when someone does a [R]eply to an existing thread, then
changes the subject, deletes the quoted message, and starts a new topic...

Those end up interwoven with the existing thread, so it can get to the
point where I can't do an [Esc] [D]elete in Mutt to trim the thread
at its root, because I'll loose some other thread that 'grew' off of it.

Anyway - back to your regular-scheduled chatter... :)

-bill!
PS - See "Monsters, Inc." if you haven't. Great flick! Gorgeous graphics.
