More information would help.  What kind of ID?  Is it an ethernet
address, AKA hardware address, AKA "MAC Address", (for example,
00:06:5B:D8:2E:9D)?  Is it a hostname that is supposed to be used with
DHCP?  Or what?  If you don't know what it is, maybe if you described
where you placed it in Windows, someone will recognize what it is.
