[svlug] network monitoring package

I have to run some tests on a cluster of 17 independent Linux servers for a
server consolidation roleplay exercise. I'm going to be running
print, mail, mailing list, smb file server, web, oracle, dns, VPN,
backup and other applications. Most of the servers will be configured
as single-function machines with independent IP addresses, probably
on the same subnet or maybe on 2 subnets at the most. I'm looking for
a monitoring package to run and monitor the tests on groupings of
servers. I looked at big brother and netsaint. Right now, I'm
leaning toward netsaint, mainly because of the nice pictures that I
could put in my report. ;-) The tests will last only a week or so,
so in theory, I could install a trial version of some commercial
software package, if this were available.

Does anyone have experience with network monitoring packages for
groupings of Linux servers? Ideally, something with a graphical view
of the network status.

Thanks for any info.

Regards,
Craig
