[svlug] Know of a Text based Network traffic monitor?

Anyone know of a way to see my network traffic via an telnet/ssh login?

Sometimes my DSL network is just bogged to a crawl, but I have several
machines. I want to be able to type some command and quickly see some
easy to understand stats of how much traffic in/out the box is using and
if possible, what the traffic is (ftp file, webpage, etc)

I know there is 'netstat', but it seems to tell me way more info than I
really care to know. Unless there is some magic incantation of command
line options that would be useful.
'netstat -t -c' is sorta close, but not quite right.

I guess I'm looking for a 'top' like program that just keeps updating
and showing me activity. Bytes sent/received, ftp/www/imap/database/etc
being sent/received, user maybe?, ip address going to, etc.

Actually, even a web front end to a program like this would be fine.

Ideas?
