[svlug] Great recomendation for CD-RW (Firewire)

Speaking of hardware support for linux...

I just picked up an external CD-RW for my Laptop as well.

It is the SmartDisk VST (www.smartdisk.com).

It is Firewire CD-RW and bus powered.  You have to run a pretty recent kernel
with ieee1394 support and sbp2 support but it works great with both my desktop
and my Laptop.  I was even able to burn a CD completly running off the batery
of my Laptop w/o AC at all!

Of course newer laptops have this built in but oh well...  ;-)
