	Hello,

Given that IBM is pouring money into Linux and porting many of it's
applications to Linux I decided to take a look at what they were
offering.

The consulting firm I am working for does lots of e-commerce stuff
using IBM's Websphere and like products. Most of the development takes
place in Windows.

I am hoping to buck that trend.

However, I have a slight allergy to Red Hats and much prefer Debian.
The problem is that IBM has packaged _everything_ using rpm and is
intended for Red Hat.

I have used 'alien' in the past to varying degrees of
success/failure.

What is the best way currently, to install a rpm packages, something
as large and complex as DB/2, Websphere, Websphere Studio etc on
a Debian box? Is it best to try and install using rpm or is it better to
install using alien or some such conversion program? Or should I just
install *gasp* Red Hat?

	Thanks
	Justin.
