[svlug] Sony Vaio questions

I just picked up a Sony Vaio pcg fx190k(uc) and have about 2 weeks to 
decide if I want to keep it under Fry's return policy (wtf, I got a good price).
The issue that I'm currently wrassling with is the two-button mousepad. I can't
seem to get XF86CONFIG to let me emulate a 3-button mouse.

I've heard rumors of a "linux on the vaio" webpage, but haven't found a 
good one yet. Does anyone have any good pointers?

Also, I'm thinking that a journaling file system would be a GoodThing (tm) 
on a laptop. Again, does anyone have any relevent experience and/or advice?
