[svlug] Linux network games?

Are there some cool network games on Linux, something you can fire up at lunch
break (or in the evening hours, or whenever), and play for a couple minutes?
I'm not (yet?) a big friend of first person shooters like Quake or Doom,
and a 3-hour strategic game is not the right thing for having some fun and
relaxing at work. No, I'm looking for a simple and easy game, where you do
not have to think, but just play, like Tetris or snake, but for >= 2 players
connected thru LAN...
I've once seen a 4-player version of snake, which would have been ideal if
it wouldn't need DOS (it was about 300 lines of GW-Basic!!), and you had to
share 1 (!) keyboard, every player got some different part of the keyboard.
But it was a lot of fun coming together and playing 2 or 3 rounds...
I cannot imagine that there are no such games. I mean, what do all the pro-
grammers and engineers and the rest do, if they want to have some fun at
work?!
