Yes; it is an rpm based system. LinuxPPC is a Redhat derivative for
the PowerPC processor.
One bit of trivia that just occured to me, I upgraded rpm to rpm.4.0
I don't know if this broke rpm or not. If it did it is a pretty lame
upgrade!
