The point of my earlier post was that there were some fairly decent
reasons at the time, though one can argue with details of how it was
packaged and numbered -- and, of course, one can maintain (as you are,
here) that they should have just waited. But others would counter that
we'll be seeing a usable 2.95.3 sooner than we would have otherwise.
It's a debatable matter, and I'm inclined to cut them some slack.
Of course, that doesn't mean I choose to join the pioneering types
trying to _use_ that stuff -- which is a different question.
