Hi Mike!
How odd, I couldn't find it either. I know, as you probably had
also heard, that they ported it to Linux, but I can't find it. The page you
referenced has links to it for other platforms, as I'm sure you undoubtedly
saw. (And I doubt you can get Solaris (Sparc) binaries to work in Linux?
Anyone?)
They DID have a version, http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/TWB19981009S0021
confirms it, but that was back in '98, so maybe they pulled it. So if the
format of files hasn't changed since that version was released, maybe
there's someone here who still has a copy lying around??
(In the meantime I think you've given me a great idea, I don't have
sound working yet on my linux box, but pretty sure my Solaris box does.
Hmm.. ;)
Sorry I couldn't be of more help! (But at least nobody thinks you're
crazy.. why do they call it 'Windows Media Player for Unix' anyways? Should
it just be Media Player or Unix Media Player? Sillies.. ;)
