I read Jim Warren's articles every once in a while but if that's what he
says he's wrong. FCC is needed otherwise CB mentality will creep into RF
spectrum all over the place. You open the PC box (800MHz) and you won't be
able to get or make a phone call. Sometimes you don't even need to open
the box, power cord and other cables do it for you. That's very easy to
prove. I can't listen to shortwave radio when the computer is on in the
same room for example. TV get's a lot of RF on some chanels too. All
depends on clocks in the machine, interfaces, cables, brackets, etc.
With more wireless stuff coming out in the near future we'll see even more
troubles. I believe that the designers should pay attention to RF, and
we need an agency to enforce it.
