[svlug] PC Card issues on TiBook

Forgive me if I am out of line but I see that others are disscussing
technical problems...

I have an Apple TiBook and I have been trying to get an IBM microdrive
PCCard addapter to work with it under Linux. (Overview is; I insert the
card and the machine shuts down.)

I have emailed the pcmcia mailing list and linuxppc lists. So far the
only lead I have is that David Hinds (pcmcia maintainer) suggested I
disscuss this with someone more familiar with PPC hardware. As I was at
the meeting Wed night and saw at least 2 people with Apple laptops I
though I would ask here.

Does anyone have a working /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file for an Apple
TiBook, or any powerbook for that matter, which they would like to
share? I basically think there is something wrong with the address set
up in there and I don't know enough about the hardware to get it right.
All I know is changing these addresses changes the behavior of my
problems... ;-) Furthermore, I know that I don't really understand
what the I/O address ranges are for, except on the x86 machines. Or at
least I think I understand... Ok now I am rambling.

Once again, sorry if I am out of line here, and thanks for a _great_
meeting Weds night,
