I am cheerfully disregarding RFC 2015.

Fortunately, PGP/GPG signatures without MIME have robust, time-tested 
support in the underlying software, and therefore still work just fine,
when needed.

Proponents of MIME in general e-mail can go multipart/encrypt themselves.
