The turnout for the Telephony BoF was excellent - about 35
people. There were engineers from several companies that have
built linux based telephony/call center/unified messaging
applications/systems, and a collection of people that are either
doing telephony and just getting into linux, or doing linux and
just getting into telephony. There was a good discussion of the
major open source telephony projects out there, and of the
hardware that was available for these apps that had linux
suport. Cyclades has some products that may be useful in the
voice space that we'll hear more about later.

All in all, it's the best BoF I've ever been to. :) For those
who could not make it, we missed you!

If there is enough interest among SVLUG members and other SFBay
area folks, we can always hold another BoF of our own. Write me
direct if you are interested in such a thing and I'll organize
it.

Also, the next SVLUG meeting (Wednesday the 5th) is by Vovida on
the VOCAL system. This is a very capable telephony
infrastructure system that is totally open source. If you are
into telephony at all, it should be a worthwhile presentation.
