Good Lord, you don't believe in asking _small_ questions, do you?

There are numerous ways to redirect POP3 over SSH or SSL.  Or, if you
care only about authentication issues, you can use APOP -- maybe.  Or 
there are IMAP-based solutions.  Or countless other stranger variants 
(including not using POP or IMAP at all).

Having a dedicated SMTP/POP host doesn't necessarily fix your security
issue:  That depends on which security issues you're most concerned
about.
