While I kicked out of Solaris in the 2.5/2.6 days, at that time a
.xinitrc (could have been .xsession) in your home directory would
successfully cause my selection of WM etc to be run for my logins
instead of CDE. Faint memory: You must either set them to 0600 or
0700 for it to work -- I seem to recall a permissions check to help
prevent spoofing.
