[svlug] Installing video drivers in Debian

I just purchased a Matrox Millenium G450 DDR 32mb Dual Head AGP video
card. I also got a Linux driver, mga_drv.o, from the Matrox site. The
site had no documentation on installing Linux video drivers. I have
looked at the HOWTOs and the mini-HOWTOs to see how to install this
driver. I have also read the documentation that came with an old version
of Debian Gnu Linux. Nowhere is there an indication of how to make this
driver part of the xf86config program.

The general question is: how does one install a new video driver under
Linux/Debian.
