It is so frustrating when it works but gives no clue about why 
it didn't work before.

It booted normally and looking in proc everything seems fine.
Now I'm looking in the filesystem if I can find any tool that 
could help me to diagnose any HW problem.

Any advice for a suite of tests?

And I'm wondering why Suse suicided itself so quickly...
