[svlug] kernel traffic--the honk! honk! kind
Tue Apr 10 16:24:02 PDT 2001
Hi all:
My wife's going to be studying at UC Berkeley in the fall, and so I've got to
leave my fine Linux job down here in LA (working on an SSI cluster version of
the Linux kernel--it hurts to go) and relocate up to the Bay area.
I can't help but notice that most of the Linux jobs in the Bay area that I've
seen are not in Berkeley, nor anywhere particularly near it. It looks like I
might have to truck down to Fremont, or across one of the bridges to the
peninsula.
Given that, I'm trying to figure out where to look for housing. Can anyone on
the list tell me just how gruesome it would be to do such a commute from
Berkeley/Oakland? Would taking the BART ease or increase the pain? Any good
places to live that might make the situation easier?
[I hope I'm not violating the list posting policy--I'm not asking for any job
leads (tho feel free to send them to me privately ;), just info on commutes]
Thanks,
Jason Duell
