hi ya...
why is the "budget box" a good deal at $1400 for running linux ??
Typical PC now days
$ 140 tyical atx motherboard w/ nic and w/ svga onboard
$ 200 P3-800EB pci-133
$ 120 30Gb ide disk - ata66/100, 7200rpm
$ 100 256mb pci-133 sdram
$ 50 cheap mid-tower PC case
----- -----------
$ 610 brand Parts for linux box off the shelf....any pc store
question is how much for "labor" to build, test, install, debug
and if you willing to run celeron-700 instead...knock off $100
