[svlug] does windows me have even more problems coinstalling with linux than win98?

well, there are some companies like HP that ship this funny (or sad,
depending on your viewpoint) 'image' instead of windows installation
disk and this 'image' insists on installing the windows exactly like it
was instructed, including partition table etc... I have such a disk with
HP pavilion N5170 notebook and haven't had time to ask their support how
do I reinstall it on different HD or with different partition layout (I
ended up just using parted to trim the original windows partition and
installed guess what).
there might be regular windows install somewhere on those two CDs that
came with notebook, I haven't investigated very throughly...
