elaborate more on the send and receive mail problem.  Is he trying to pop
mail off a pop server or run a sendmail server.  Inability to send, all I
can recommend there is to set the hostname, and email address correctly,
then specify the smtp server of his isp.  for @home, its usually
mail.longsilly at homedomainname.  For me for example, its
mail.ocnsd1.sdca.home.com.  If he wants to be his own smtp server, just
set the email address properly, then specify localhost, tho beware some
people will block mail from the @home ip space.
