Copyright-holding corporations are using the new Digital Millennium
Copyright Act to:

- Suppress an Open Source utility for playing DVD movies

- Censor an article critical of the Internet filtering
  program "Cyber Patrol"

- And now, to attack some slashdot.org postings about how to
view "zipped" PDF files of Microsoft's modifications to
  Kerberos.

Now is the time to make yourself heard about the DMCA's nasty effects on
freedom of speech. Please come to Stanford tomorrow (Thursday, 18 May)
for a protest outside the Copyright Office's DMCA hearings at Stanford
Law School. We will be there from noon to 2 pm, and you are welcome for
as long or as short a time as you like.

The event is co-sponsored by the Electronic Frontier Foundation,
SVLUG, and 2600: The Hacker Quarterly. EFF will hold a press conference.

Hope you can join us at Stanford tomorrow.
