	Ok, no worries.

I am not even going to begin to pretend that I understand the issues
surrounding changing the kernel to accommodate Java. I leave that up
to Linus and the people who work on the kernel and those who truly
	understand the issue.

At first I was really dumbfounded as to why large parts of the Linux
community were so turned off by Java. I would have thought they
would have embraced it given that Java's original idea was to have
multiplatormed applications and this would benefit Linux.

Then I realized that for many Linux programmers, what is most
important is the use of the best available technology before anything
else. Java for them is not the best available technology for pure
technological reasons. While Java may have brought more apps to Linux
it would have done so at a cost to Linux itself.

	Or so the argument goes.

	That I can respect.

	Justin.
