[svlug] Redhat 6.2 formatting HD took over 3 hours!!!

It does. I had the same thing happen when I dropped a 2nd drive in one
of my Mandrake boxes as /music. The format took several hours because
I told it to check for bad blocks. I wish the installer had said,
"this could take half the day on big drives..."
