What?  A book!  Tell 'er ta read da stinkin' code!  Man pages!  That's
what man pages are for!  And...make her use dselect!  (Audience: "Oh
No!")  If she complains, give her a copy of K&R and tell her it's the UNIX way!

Actually, I highly recommend Linux for Dummies.  I hate the title,
too, but I guess they sell a lot of books so they can pick and choose
authors.  After that I recommend linux networking toolkit.  Then she
will probably graduate to o-reilly books.
