It worked fine for me on my PacBell Nokia 5190 (GSM), but I got a
new CellOne Nokia 6160 (TDMA Dual Band) and the Gnokii code base
is not far enough along to have reverse engineered much of the
latter's protocol.

Using SMS would be a nifty way to transmit infrequent and small
data packets from remote locations - GPS data, summarized
instrumentation data, alarm and indication data, etc.  Ah to have
the time to do all the little projects one can think of...
