My Redhat 6.0 (mostly) install seems to indicate that
the dip I run here is dip-3.3.7o-14. That may indicate that
there have been some minor patches (-14) against the
official release. However, rpmfind suggests that I
also have the latest dip. At any rate, it works just fine.

Don't know about these. I don't use ppp, as shocking as that may be.
My net connection (for >5 years) has been CSLIP. Hopefully soon, it'll
be DSL. ;)

kppp is part of the net tools section of kde. Look for a component called
'kdenetwork' as part of the overall kde stuff: this will contain kppp. If
you're going to include kppp, you might as well include the rest of the
package, and (if you have enough room) perhaps all of KDE itself. Also,
many Linux distributions now include kde on their installation CDs.

Part of Netscape's sources (Mozilla) are available. However, I've heard
it's a bitch to compile (requires vast memory resources that not everyone
may have) so I'd probably not be inclined to put source on the CD unless
there's enough room to do so. On the other hand, since it's for students,
it could be very helpful for them to see sources.

You're right -- not everyone uses RPMs. Source tar.gzs would probably be
better. If there's room, why not? :)
