For some reason, tripwire-1.2-2.i386.rpm keeps segfaulting whenever I do
the -interactive part.
it get's through the first part, but then STB when it's updating database:
[snip]
Updating entry: /etc/passwd-
Updating entry: /etc/skel
Updating entry: /etc/shadow-
Updating entry: /etc/shadow
Updating entry: /etc/gshadow-
Updating entry: /etc/gshadow
Updating entry: /etc/ssh/ssh_random_seed
Updating entry: /usr/lib/perl5/man/whatis
### Updating database...
###
### Phase 1: Reading configuration file
### Phase 2: Generating file list
Segmentation fault
Interestingly, if I remove the tripwire rpm and the database, then reinstall
the rpm, it works fine, it builds the database and runs happily every night
as it should. it's only when I try to update the db...
This was working a few days ago, I'm fairly positive the box hasn't been
hacked or anything like that. It's some rpm upgrade that must have tweaked
it, I just don't know what it could have been. I don't put anything crazy on
this box as it's a dedicated web/database server only. I have "autorpm"
running, and I've only had it update about 6 packages total so far, on my
command, and to my knowledge, none of them were libraries or anything that
should have effected tripwire. I don't think I've changed anything, major?
here's some versions of interest:
