[svlug] modem on mac 3400

Hello;

I have a Mac 3400 running linuxPPC (kernel 2.2.10) and I would like to be able 
to use a modem.  The serial port does work, so I could run out and buy an 
external modem.  But I would really like to use either the internal 
modem or, if I have to buy a modem, a pcmcia modem (it is a laptop, after
all).  I've been by the FAQ-o-matic on the linuxppc.com webpage and
this only told me that the modem doesn't work.

Any suggestions?
