Agreed. I am not denegrating perl or those who use it. I am simply stating

Web applications are not my forte. So...
My statement should in no way be interpreted to mean I think perl is
inadequate for serious work. Quite to the contrary: I think perl is a
wonderful language.

gtk is doing quite well these days. But, again, it really is a matter of
preference of those developing a given application. I prefer C. Perl is
my second favorite language at the moment. I will probably rank C++ second
and Perl third at some point in the future... My preferences are not in any
way presented to suggest other views are incorrect. My preferences are
clearly related to the genre of applications that I work with.
