I sent a message earlier to the list but never received it back.

Don't know what you guys changed on the mail system which used to work for
years. My exim_rejects shows the following:

2000-04-27 17:34:39 rejected MAIL FROM: temporarily unable to verify
sender address (try again later) <svlug-admin at lists.svlug.org> H=svlug2.svlug.org
[198.186.203.43] (mail)

Seems there is nothing in "MAIL FROM:" which my exim rejects. That
prevents 99% of the spam.

exim_mainlog has the following:

2000-04-27 17:34:39 rejected MAIL FROM: temporarily unable to verify
sender address (try again later) <svlug-admin at lists.svlug.org> H=svlug2.svlug.org
[198.186.203.43] (mail)

2000-04-27 17:53:06 End queue run: pid=15856
2000-04-27 18:02:38 12kzB0-00048g-00 <= svlug-admin at lists.svlug.org
H=svlug2.svlug.org [198.186.203.43] U=mail P=esmtp S=3889 id=200004280056.RAA23895 at planet.fef.com
2000-04-27 18:02:40 12kzB0-00048g-00 => |procmail <raffi at linwin.com>
D=userforward T=address_pipe 2000-04-27 18:02:40 12kzB0-00048g-00 Completed

As you can see, message from svlug-admin at lists.svlug.org works fine while
the other one above failed to satisfy exim rules, ie. "MAIL FROM:" was
empty.

I have no problems getting email from other places including AOL, Cisco,
etc. The question is why the messages from SVLUG appear to come from ""
i.e. thin air one time and svlug-admin at lists.svlug.org another time.
