That would work reasonably well. I don't think Windows can do that, but
maybe with Windows emulation or other software, that might not be
much of an issue.

When I was around De Anza, that's what the computer lab did (with 
floppies) but that was a long time ago, back when DOS and other 
software could fit on a floppy. Nowadays, of course, the storage
needs are so much bigger. But a zip disk could hold the OS and some
other stuff,

That's always a concern -- and opens other issues such as piracy, viruses,
etc.
